Born in the northeast of England in 1959 Howard graduated with a BA with honours in 1980 and returned to his native county of Durham mainly to enjoy the open countryside with his two children.
Howard's bright and colourful images of the natural world can be found on 100's of products worldwide. Described as the artistic master of adorable animals, both wild and tame that brim with personality, the kind that makes a person smile.
Howard enjoys all forms of wildlife, although his main interest is in birds. He has studied and bred many rare species and in 2008 was invited to Brisbane as guest speaker at the International Finch Convention, an honour he repeated in 2014.

Howard Robinson ‘Selfies’
For the second year in a row Selfies was a nominated finalist in the LIMA International Licensing Awards held in Vegas over the summer. Currently we have 76 licensing partners around the globe who are producing over 11,500 individual product items ranging from surf boards to wallpapers and even baby onesies. Appealing to all generations has allowed for a strong presence throughout independent gift stores, tourist destinations and gaining mass market placements in Wal-Mart, TRU, Staples, Target, Meijer, Aldi, Office Depot,Carrefour.
Selfies continues to expand into new categories and territories. Home Furnishings have been a strong sector with a number of new licensees for bedding, curtains, cushions, accent rugs, blankets, Wall coverings and dog beds. After an amazing Licensing Expo further expansion into Gift and Collectables has added hundreds of new items to the catalogue of products available ranging from luggage tags, pill boxes, hip flasks, bottle openers, stoppers, pull chains, key holders, compact mirrors and much more.Anew range of Novelty jewellery featuring items such as cuff links, bobby pins, charms, pendants, earrings, lapel pins and shoe charms are now available.
In the Automotive section we have new licensed products such as plate frames, hitch covers, wheel badges, air fresheners and window stickers. In Sports, various new licensees have added golf balls, divot tools, golf hat clips, hockey pucks, ping pong balls, frisbees, bicycle bells and an exiting new project in the US with the premier licensee, ‘Strike Force Bowling’ whoare producing aunique range of Selfie bowling balls, pins and bags.
New additions to the Technology sector have included headphones, earbuds, phone cases, tablet covers, phone stands and credit card blocker sleeves and in Craft, new licensees for cupcake picks, buttons, wrapping paper and Scrapbooking stickers.
The new Selfie Beach Resort in the Philippinesalthough still under construction is already gaining rave reviews from the local community and tourist agencies. The first beachfront phase of cabanas, karaoke rooms and small event area is open to day guests with the Selfie design studio, huge functionroom,restaurant and bars scheduled to open midOctober. The second phase build of hotel rooms and the themed pool & village area is planned to open in 2019. The first dedicated Selfie retail outlet is now also under construction.

Taking inspiration from the worldwide trend for taking selfies, Howard Robinson created "Selfies" an adorable collection of images of the animal world enthusiastically joining in. Howard's core clients were quick to recognise the popularity of the concept and bring product to market starting in the USA with Ravensburger, Ceaco and SunsOut who have each licensed a range of designs for puzzles.
Leanin Tree have produced a range of Selfie greetings cards along with Christmas editions, mugs and magnets, Artbeat of America recognising the universal family appeal of the images for their religious greetings cards distributed through Christian bookstores and churches and Nobleworks publishing over 80 designs for boxed notecards. For the mass market channels Fibro Source have commissioned a unique set of 'Selfies on tour' images featuring the animal characters taking selfies at famous tourists spots such as Times Sq, Hollywood and Vegas for a custom range of back to school products. Tree Free are producing a whole range of Selfie stationary and gift items aimed at the Zoo and Aquarium market and Trends international for Calendars in the US.
A whole wave of Selfie products will be launching in beach resorts over the summer months, JR Copa with fine quality beach towels and boards, The Mountain with pre print T Shirts and Art Brands with T Shirttransfers. Text your Dreams are taking several images for their uniqueToss n Towel game. Great American Products are soon to release a range of top quality steel and glass Drinkware for the gift market and Custom Decor Inc have utilised the designs for flags, mailbox covers and garden signs and Elizabeth Studios with a range of cotton textiles.
Ravensburger in the UK are publishing several Selfie puzzles with Thomas Holdsworth for New Zealand and Australia and the Perre Group licensing Selfie designs for puzzles in the Middle East and Turkey. In Poland Howard has been working with Beniamin Sp who have launched a large and quality range of back to school and office products and in France with Group editor on a range of 24 greetings cards, Maxi Cards and 3D pop up cards. Puckator have released Selfies cups, magnets and bags in the UK and Rye Merc are publishing the Selfies on Canvas prints throughout europe.
Howard has added the Selfies to his own lenticular 3D gift range of posters, stationary, puzzles, place-mats, cups and Christmas cards with worldwide distribution. A custom set of lenticular puzzles specially produced for Aldi in the UK, Europe and Australia. At the Licensing Expo in Vegas several new clients were introduced and it is expected the Selfies products to be making an appearance in Colombia, Panama and throughout South America in 2017. Howard is now turning his attention to the european and asian markets at Brand Licensing Europe and the Mega Show in Hong Kong where he is hoping to meet with new partners to work in these territories.
